Communications and Marketing Manager (full time, ongoing)

Job Summary

Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation (WTOAC) is seeking an experience Communications and Marketing Manager to lead our communications and marketing function.

This senior role will lead the development and delivery of communications, marketing, media and digital engagement across the organisation.

Working closely with Traditional Owners, staff and key stakeholders, you will help ensure Wadawurrung voices, stories and achievements are shared appropriately, respectfully and with Cultural Safety at the forefront.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the development and delivery of WTOAC’s communications and marketing strategy.
- Lead, support and develop the Communications and Marketing team.
- Oversee organisational communications, marketing campaigns, media, digital platforms and social media.
- Strengthen communication and engagement with Wadawurrung Traditional Owners and Members.
- Provide strategic communications advice and support across the organisation.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with media, community, government and other key stakeholders.
- Oversee the development of high-quality content for a range of audiences and communication channels.
- Ensure Wadawurrung stories, knowledge and voices are represented appropriately and respectfully.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen WTOAC’s profile, reach and engagement.

About You

You will be an experienced communications and marketing professional who can balance strategic leadership with hands-on delivery. You will bring:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications,



marketing, media or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in a senior communications and/or marketing role.
- Experience leading, supporting and developing a team.
- Strong strategic communications and campaign management experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
- Experience across digital communications, social media, content development and media.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- A genuine appreciation and respect for Aboriginal people, cultures and self-determination.
- Previous experience working within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation, Traditional Owner organisation or community-based environment.
- Experience working with Traditional Owners, Aboriginal communities and/or culturally diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Wadawurrung community and Country.
- Experience managing media relationships and organisational reputation.
- Experience delivering communications across a complex or multidisciplinary organisation.
