Air Radiators is a leading Australian manufacturer of specialised heat transfer and engineered cooling solutions. For over 50 years we have designed and manufactured customised products for customers across mining, defence, transport, power generation and industrial sectors.

About the Role

Most of your time will be spent designing in SolidWorks, producing manufacturing drawings and BOMs, managing design changes and helping production solve problems. Some work will involve new or customised products, while other work will involve updating existing designs, maintaining documentation, and resolving manufacturing questions.

You will see work through from the initial requirement to manufacture and delivery. The role is broad because you stay involved across the full process, not because every day or every product is completely different. Working beside manufacturing gives you direct feedback and helps you build stronger practical engineering judgement.

What you will be doing

Creating 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks.

Designing customised products that are practical, protected and cost-effective to manufacture.

Preparing and maintaining BOMs, technical documents, drawings and engineering changes.

Working directly with production to answer questions, solve problems and improve designs.

Liaising with purchasing, quality, sales, suppliers and customers when technical input is needed.

Helping with product improvements, troubleshooting and root cause investigations.

About You





You are a degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer who wants to stay close to technical design work. This could suit an engineer building their experience or someone ready to take more end-to-end responsibility without moving away from CAD and practical engineering.

- You hold a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent recognised qualification
- You have strong, hands-on SolidWorks experience and can confidently create 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings
- You are interested in how products are made and in designing work that can be manufactured successfully
- You like solving practical problems and are comfortable spending time in manufacturing
- You can manage several jobs at once, keep drawings and records organised, and ask questions when something is unclear
- You communicate well with people from manufacturing through to customers and suppliers
- Experience with fabrication, welding, sheet metal, engineer-to-order manufacturing or heat transfer equipment would be useful, but none of it is essential. We can teach you our products and processes; what you need to bring is strong SolidWorks capability and sound mechanical design skills
