About the role

Our client is an innovative Australian business transforming the heavy transport sector through zero-emission vehicle technology and supporting energy infrastructure. Reporting into the Engineering Team, you will support the planning, design, analysis and implementation of engineering projects. The role offers broad exposure across mechanical engineering, including research, development, design and testing, giving you the chance to deepen your technical expertise and gain valuable experience in a fast-growing clean-tech environment.

Key responsibilities

- Assist in the design, development and implementation of mechanical components and systems

- Support the preparation of technical reports, design documentation and project proposals

- Conduct research and analysis to improve product performance and efficiency

- Assist with prototype development, testing and validation of engineering solutions

- Review and interpret technical drawings, CAD models, stress analysis and engineering specifications

- Prepare and review Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) documentation





- Collaborate with the engineering team to develop innovative solutions to technical challenges

- Support compliance with Australian Design Rules (ADR) and other regulatory requirements

About you

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or in your final year of study)

- 3+ years' engineering experience, ideally in automotive, rail, aerospace or heavy transport products

- Solid understanding of mechanical systems, materials and design principles

- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Solid Edge or similar), with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience gained through study or industry

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to write clear technical reports and documentation

- Excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills and competency with MS Office

- Strong verbal and written communication skills and a collaborative approach
- A willingness to learn and adapt to current challenges
- A valid driver's licence is preferred but not essential
