About the Role

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for servicing,



maintaining and repairing heavy transport equipment to ensure our fleet remains safe, compliant and operational. You'll work across trucks, trailers, containers and associated equipment while contributing to a productive and professional workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers and containers.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and identify equipment failures.
- Complete repairs, component replacements and modifications.
- Inspect and maintain braking systems, suspension, running gear and associated components.
- Repair and maintain trailer components including axles, hubs, bearings and coupling systems.
- Assist with welding, fabrication and modification work as required.
- Complete maintenance records and job documentation accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area.
- Identify and report safety hazards and maintenance concerns.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Essential

- Mechanical fitting or heavy vehicle mechanical experience.
- Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or a related discipline.
- Experience working on trucks, trailers, containers or similar heavy equipment.




- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings.
- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Current driver's licence.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

- Experience within the transport, logistics or heavy equipment industries.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Knowledge of trailer braking and suspension systems.
- Forklift or other high-risk work licences.
- MR or HR driver's licence.
