The Role The Mechanical Systems Specialist is responsible for performing a wide range of mechanical repairs and maintenance on both light and heavy vehicles, with a focus on complex systems, custom installations, and brake systems. This role also supports R&D; initiatives and provides technical expertise to customers.

What You’ll Do The Mechanical Systems Specialist is responsible for:

· Vehicle Repairs and Maintenance o Conduct advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on light and heavy vehicles.

o Perform complex brake system installations and modifications.

o Carry out routine maintenance tasks according to manufacturer specifications.

· Technical Support and R&D; o Assist in R&D; projects and prototype development.

o Provide technical support to auto electricians for integrated systems.

o Contribute to the development of new products and processes.

· Customer Service and Site Visits o Interact with customers to explain technical issues and solutions.

o Conduct in office asset inspections and prepare detailed reports.

o Create accurate quotations for parts and services.

o Provide on-site customer training and equipment demonstrations as required.

o Maintain clear communication with customers throughout the repair or installation process.





· Documentation and Reporting o Maintain detailed service records and contribute to technical documentation.

o Compile comprehensive site visit reports, highlighting mechanical issues and recommendations.

o Assist in the development and maintenance of relevant documentation (work instructions/procedures/manuals etc)

The Team

Reporting to the Senior Mechanical Systems Specialist (Workshop Supervisor), the Mechanical Systems Specialist works closely with the Operations team, the Engineering team, the Sales & Marketing Team, Suppliers, Customers and Freight/Logistics companies.

What We’re Looking For The successful candidate should demonstrate the following Essential and Desirable characteristics:

Essential

· Australian recognised Trade Certificate (Vehicle Mechanic – Light of Heavy)

· Motor Vehicle Repairer's Certificate – Class of Repair - Heavy Vehicle Work (HVW)

· Current C Class and HR License

· Demonstrated experience in automotive repair and maintenance

· An in-depth knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems

· Proven ability with fault finding and problem solving

· Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and computer systems

· Knowledge of advanced vehicle systems and custom modifications

· Competent in reading technical documents including drawing specifications and standards

· Current Forklift license





· Excellent customer service and attention to detail

· Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaborate as part of a team

· Effective time management, record keeping and high attention to detail

· Good verbal and written communication skills and competence with MS office suite

· Ability to prioritise, manage tasks, meet timelines and achieve goals

· An uncompromising approach towards safety and duty of care

Desirable

· Specialist training of braking systems is beneficial.

· An annual salary range of $70,000 - $105,000.
