Local Community Connector | APS4

We are seeking a Local Community Connector to join our government client, supporting individuals and communities to access services, community supports and appropriate pathways.

This is an Identified position with a strong focus on working respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.

The Role

- Work with individuals, service providers and communities to gather information and support access to services.
- Build strong, culturally respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Provide information about government, mainstream and community services and supports.
- Assist with developing community connection plans and undertake regular participant check-ins.
- Monitor supports and ensure appropriate follow-up and administration is completed.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to provide advice and resolve enquiries.
- Apply relevant legislation, policies and procedures in your day-to-day work.

About You





- Strong understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
- Demonstrated cultural awareness and respectful community engagement skills.
- Experience in community engagement, service delivery or a similar client-focused role.
- Solid communication, administration and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently, use sound judgement and manage competing priorities.

Role Requirements

- Travel to regional and remote locations, including overnight stays.
- Visits to community locations and individuals' homes.
- Driving long distances, including on unsealed roads.
- Regular face-to-face and telephone engagement.
- A current driver's licence.
