About the business
MRG is a subcontractor and supplementary skilled labour supplier for TfNSW Civil Rail Infrastructure.
As a result, we are in need of a highly-skilled metal fabricator to assist us in delivering on our commitment to our customers with quality workmanship.
About the role
We are seeking a highly-skilled individual who has experience in metal fabrication. The successful applicant is required to cut, shape, position and align different metals. They must also understand assembly instructions and ensure parts meet quality control standards.
The prospective occupant of the role must be physically fit and energetic to manage the regular manual handlings of tasks required of this position. You should provide a credible rail industry employment history that will confirm your safety consciousness, reliability and diligence.
About you In order to succeed in this role,
you must possess the following skills, experience and attributes:
· Experience in structural steel and light fabrication and in using MIG, ARC and TIG welding – mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel;
· Experience in grinding, sanding, drilling, cropping, cleaning and cutting metal stock using various tools and machinery;
· Aligning parts precisely and join metal sections using advanced welding techniques, riveting, and bolting;
· Highly skilled in tacking and welding;
· Ability to interpret and rad workshop drawings.
Requirements
· AQF Certificate III (including at least two years of on-the-job training) OR an AQF Certificate IV;
· Experience in railway (2 Years Minimum);
· High attention to detail and pride in workmanship;
· Strong safety awareness and reliability;
· Possession of construction induction (white card);
· Possession of RISI, MTA Ticket (rail labourer).
· Drivers Licence
