Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Integration & Middleware Engineer to administer, configure, secure, and operate multiple enterprise middleware platforms, including Kong, ensuring critical business processes meet defined service levels and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Review high-level integration solution designs and provide technical leadership to project teams.
- Ensure approved integration patterns and architectures are consistently applied across detailed design and implementation.
- Identify, assess, and escalate technical and delivery risks, providing alternative technical or functional solutions where required.
- Define, govern, and approve API standards, frameworks, and processes.
- Contribute to API strategy and enterprise integration architecture.
- Represent the team in gas and electricity industry forums and support B2B system interoperability.
- Design and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor operational metrics and business SLAs.
- Identify repetitive operational tasks and develop automation solutions to improve reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
- Partner with Enterprise and Solution Architecture teams to develop integration standards, patterns, and best practices.
- Support project teams with onboarding and scaling integration environments, including configuration, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.

Position Requirements
- 7+ years of experience managing integration platforms, including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and production incident resolution.
- Strong experience managing middleware platforms in active-passive or active-active production environments.
- Experience with configuration auditing,



backup/recovery, alerting, performance tuning, and application migration across sites.
- Strong expertise in Kong API Gateway, Managed File Transfer, messaging middleware, and webMethods.
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, automated build, testing, and deployment.
- Strong stakeholder communication and ability to explain complex technical concepts.
- 7+ years of experience in Business-to-Business and Enterprise Application Integration.
- Hands-on experience integrating solutions with Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
- Experience supporting RESTful APIs and SOAP web services.
- Solid understanding of HTTPS, SMTP, LDAP, OAuth, OIDC, JWT, and TLS/SSL.
- Experience in system analysis, process design, technical documentation, and production support.
- Proven experience managing and resolving production incidents within agreed SLAs.
