What Our Team Is Looking For

We are seeking experienced M365 Network Specialists with a robust background in Federal Government, Utilities, Defence, or large-scale enterprise secure environments.

We are looking for an experienced Microsoft 365 Network Specialist to design, implement, manage, and optimize Microsoft 365 network and connectivity services across cloud, hybrid, and secure enterprise environments. In this role, you will ensure the secure, reliable, and high-performance delivery of Microsoft 365 services, including Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Azure/Entra services, and integrated enterprise applications.

You will act as a senior technical resource for Microsoft 365 network architecture, connectivity, security, and performance optimisation. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in enterprise networking, cloud connectivity, hybrid infrastructure, identity services, DNS, routing, firewall technologies, remote access solutions, and secure network architectures supporting modern digital workplaces.

Key Responsibilities

1. Microsoft 365 Connectivity & Network Operations: Design, implement, manage, and support network connectivity for Microsoft 365 services, ensuring availability, performance, and secure access across enterprise environments.

2. Cloud & Hybrid Network Integration: Configure and maintain hybrid connectivity solutions including Azure networking, ExpressRoute, VPN services, DNS services,



application gateways, proxy services, and cloud-to-on-premises integrations.

3. Identity & Secure Access: Support Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access, Zero Trust architectures, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), and identity-aware network security controls.

4. Network Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain secure network architectures, firewall policies, secure web gateways, micro-segmentation strategies, Microsoft Defender integrations, and compliance requirements aligned with government and enterprise security frameworks.

5. Performance Monitoring & Optimisation: Monitor and optimise Microsoft 365 network performance, Teams media quality, Exchange connectivity, SharePoint access, WAN utilisation, and user experience across distributed environments.

6. Migration & Modernisation: Lead and support network-related activities for cloud migrations, tenant-to-tenant transitions, hybrid modernisation programs, datacentre transformations, and Microsoft 365 service adoption initiatives.

7. Troubleshooting & Incident Response: Diagnose and resolve complex network, routing, authentication, DNS, firewall, proxy, and cloud connectivity issues impacting Microsoft 365 services.

8. Documentation & Architecture: Maintain network architecture documentation, standards, operational procedures, configuration baselines, disaster recovery plans, and technical designs.

Qualifications & Skills

1. Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and supporting enterprise networking environments with significant exposure to Microsoft 365 and Azure cloud services.

2. Network Engineering Expertise: Strong knowledge of enterprise networking including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, routing, switching, firewalls, load balancing,



VPN technologies, and network security.

3. Microsoft 365 & Cloud Technologies: Deep understanding of Microsoft 365 connectivity principles, Teams media optimisation, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Entra ID, Azure networking, ExpressRoute, and cloud access architectures.

4. Security & Compliance: Experience implementing Zero Trust principles, Conditional Access, Microsoft Defender, Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), Network Security Groups (NSGs), and enterprise security frameworks.

5. Automation & Scripting: Proficiency with PowerShell and infrastructure automation tools for configuration, monitoring, reporting, and operational efficiency.

6. Platform Experience: Experience supporting hybrid infrastructure environments including Azure, VMware, Hyper-V, Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, F5, Aruba, or equivalent enterprise networking platforms.

7. Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate, Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Cisco CCNP Enterprise, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSE, or equivalent qualifications are highly regarded.

Desirable Experience

- Defence, Federal Government, or Critical Infrastructure environments.
- Protected, Secret, or highly regulated environments.
- Microsoft Teams Voice, Direct Routing, and Unified Communications.

- Secure network design aligned with the Essential Eight, ISM, and Zero Trust principles.
- Large-scale cloud transformation and digital workplace programs.
- Experience supporting geographically dispersed and mission-critical operational environments.

Mandatory Requirements As this role will work across federal government and industry client environments, an existing security clearance of Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) or higher is mandatory for this role.
