Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, you will be part of a team that not only monitors data for production reporting and reconciliation purposes but also supervises underground diamond drilling activities that defines the future of the operation. The data you collect through mapping and core logging feeds into our resource models and mine planning team.

Roster This role will be based onsite in Cobar, NSW working an 8/6 days FIFO roster from Brisbane or Sydney with local candidates highly regarded.

Responsibilities Key Responsibilities:

- Being able to effectively communicate with geologists, drillers, engineers and metallurgists, miners and shift supervisors
- Follow underground grade control procedures and undertake inspections and reconciliations as required
- Undertake core logging including identification of samples and appropriate QA/QC samples in accordance with the site Quality Assurance System. Ensure that core logging is completed in a safe and timely manner
- Undertake underground mapping in a safe and timely manner and ensure mapping is transferred to plans for use in resource modelling
- Validate mine production transactions for accuracy daily and update relevant grade and tonne tracking systems
- Supervise the drilling contract as required with respect to new setup locations, hole design and daily drilling issues
- Ensure all sample data is collected, stored and validated in the geological database
- Assist with preparation of drilling, sampling and mapping data for use in resource updates




- Ensure that diamond drill program design and drill site preparation are completed in a timely manner
- Assist in mine exploration targeting
- Preparation of stope summaries and stope tonnes and grade as required in a timely manner
- Preparation of daily, weekly and monthly reports in a timely manner
- Contribute to development and stope design signoffs

Qualifications About You: To be successful, you will bring the following skills, experience and personal attributes:

- Degree in Geology
- Australian manual driver’s license
- As a seasoned Mine Geologist, a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an underground base metals mine, or a willingness to learn and be involved if a recent Graduate
- Knowledge of Grade Reconciliation analysis & reporting
- Experience with drill program design and supervision
- Experience with Resource interpretation
- Competency with 3D modelling software
- Core logging and mapping experience
