ConsMin’s Woodie Woodie operation is an internationally recognised supplier of high grade Manganese and is located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, approximately 400 km south-east of Port Hedland. Woodie is a FIFO operation with direct charter flights from the General Aviation (GA) precinct at Perth Airport taking around 2 hours to our onsite airport.

Our Open pit mining operation relies on effective fleet coordination, accurate material movements and strong communication to safely and efficiently deliver the Daily mine plan.

We are seeking an experienced Mine Controller to join our site based Mine Control team. This is an opportunity to contribute directly to operational performance while helping strengthen our processes, teamwork and service to our operational stakeholders.

Reporting to the Mine Control Superintendent, you will act as a central coordinator for real time mining operations using our Wenco Fleet Management System to optimise equipment allocation, material movements and production performance.

This role is as much about judgement and teamwork as it is about operating the system. You will need to be precise, communicate clearly and work constructively with others while managing ever changing priorities throughout the shift.

You will work closely with Load & Haul, Maintenance, Processing and Technical Services to respond to operational disruptions and support delivery of the Daily mine plan.

Key responsibilities include

- Operate the Fleet Management System to monitor and manage the mining fleet in real time




- Allocate haul trucks to loading units based on operational priorities
- Balance loading units to minimise truck queuing, idle time and unnecessary travel.
- Monitor production against shift targets and the daily mine plan, with an eye on the Weekly plan
- Monitor ROM and Waste destinations to ensure Ore & Waste movements align with the mine plan
- Coordinate with Mining Supervisors to adjust fleet allocation throughout the shift
- Monitor equipment availability and operational constraints
- Coordinate equipment movements during shift changes, blasting, breakdowns and weather events
- Provide timely communication between Mining, Maintenance, Technical Services and Supervisors
- Support drill and blast activities through effective equipment coordination
- Maintain accurate operational information and support reliable production reporting

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Previous Mine Control or Dispatch experience in an open pit mining environment
- Experience operating Wenco, MineStar or an equivalent Fleet Management System
- A strong understanding of haulage, truck and digger operations and mining production processes
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple mining activities and priorities at the same time
- Solid situational awareness and the ability to make sound decisions in a changing operational environment
- Clear radio, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate operational data and reporting
- Competence using Microsoft applications
- A current C Class Driver’s Licence.
