Mills Oakley's Mining and Resources team is looking for a talented Solicitor (3+ years' PQE) to join our Queensland practice.

The Role

Mills Oakley's Mining and Resources team is looking for a talented Solicitor to join our Queensland practice. You will work on a diverse mix of transactional and regulatory matters for mining and resources clients across all commodities. You will be part of a team led by Glenn Vassallo and Scott Standen, who are recognised as leading experts in Mining and Resources, with a strong passion towards mentorship and high-performance.

What You Will Do

- Advise on mining and resources approvals across the project lifecycle: exploration, development and production
- Assist clients with tenure, environmental authorities, native title and cultural heritage, land access and compensation matters
- Support mining and resources M&A;, including due diligence, transaction documents and completion
- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements, including joint ventures, offtake and royalty arrangements




- Build strong client relationships and contribute to business development

About You

- You have an incredible thirst to grow professionally and personally
- Admitted as a solicitor in Queensland, with 3+ years' PQE
- Demonstrated experience in mining and resources law, including exploration, development and production approvals
- Hands-on experience in mining and resources M&A;, equity and debt markets
- Strong drafting, analytical and problem-solving skills
- A commercial mindset, with the ability to manage matters independently
- Proven track record of working well in a team
