About the role

We are seeking an experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team at our Cambridge, Tasmania location on a full-time basis. This is a hands-on technical role that plays a crucial part in maintaining and servicing our fleet of cars, campervans and 4WD vehicles. As a Motor Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles, as well as assisting with rental depot tasks as required.

Key responsibilities

- Perform diagnostic tests and repairs on vehicle engines, transmissions, suspension systems, and electrical components
- Conduct routine maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and tyre rotations
- Inspect vehicles thoroughly and identify mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment
- Repair and replace faulty parts, components, and systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications
- Assist with depot tasks such as cleaning and preparing outgoing vehicles and vehicle handover as required





What we're looking for

- Formal qualification as a Motor Mechanic or equivalent trade qualification recognised in Australia
- Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a motor mechanic role, preferably in a workshop or fleet maintenance environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of vehicle systems, engines, and components
- Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and computer-based vehicle testing tools
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, service schedules, and wiring diagrams
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to take initiative and work independently
- Valid driver's licence and a clean driving record
- Physical fitness and ability to work in a hands-on environment, including bending, lifting, and working at height
