About Macemark Technology
Since 1983, Macemark Technology has been a trusted provider of sterilising and infection control equipment sales, servicing and installation. We support hospitals, day surgeries, medical and dental practices, veterinary clinics and scientific and research facilities. We deliver high quality, dependable product and service, with safety, reliability and compliance on every project.
About The Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the National Business Development Manager (Endoscopy) will be based remotely and hold national accountability for our endoscopy sales. We launched the Endoscopy range in May 2026 and are now expanding into the national endoscopy equipment market. We are looking for the right person to lead it.
You will open doors with hospital networks, health services and private facilities across Australia, and position Macemark as a trusted partner for endoscopy equipment sales and servicing. This is a genuine greenfield appointment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the national go-to-market strategy for the endoscopy range with the CEO;
- Identify, qualify and convert new business across public and private hospitals, private day surgery networks, corporate day hospital groups and gastroenterology centres, from a standing start;
- Build and manage relationships at all levels with hospital procurement, biomedical engineering and endoscopy unit management, including Nurse Unit Managers and Facility Directors;
- Own the full sales cycle from first outreach to contract close, including demonstrations, clinical in-services, quotations and proposals, then hand over to our projects, service and installation teams for delivery;
- Negotiate commercial terms and respond to tenders with hospital groups and health networks, within the company's delegations of authority and approved pricing framework;
- Win and develop strategic accounts across capital equipment, consumables and associated service work, managing to lifetime account value;
- Identify and recommend channel opportunities, including distribution and referral partnerships, group purchasing and health network arrangements;
- Represent Macemark at industry conferences, trade shows and clinical forums to build our presence in the endoscopy market; and
- Provide market intelligence, and maintain pipeline reporting and sales forecasting.
About You You're a self-starter who thrives on building something new. You're commercially sharp, comfortable operating independently, and energised by the challenge of opening a new market. You build genuine relationships with customers and you understand how hospitals buy.
The ideal candidate will bring the following attributes to the role:
- 3+ years in business development or sales within medical devices or healthcare capital equipment, with new accounts won without an inherited account base;
- A proven track record selling into hospital networks and corporate day surgery groups;
- An established clinical network, including relationships with surgeons, gastroenterologists and Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs);
- A robust understanding of capital expenditure (CapEx) and operational budgets, and of public and private procurement and purchasing cycles in Australia;
- A proven record of building a pipeline in a greenfield or market expansion environment;
- Experience preparing and winning formal tender responses, including hospital group and government procurement frameworks;
- Sound commercial judgement and confidence with the financial calculations behind pricing and quoting;
- Credibility with clinical, biomedical engineering, procurement and executive audiences, in person and online;
- The ability to structure and run a national territory autonomously, setting your own priorities without day-to-day supervision;
- A demonstrated ability to manage and coach a direct report, and to hold them accountable to agreed standards; and
- The ability to travel nationally on a regular basis, with occasional travel to New Zealand and Papua Current Guinea.
Highly Regarded Attributes
- Direct experience with endoscopy equipment, such as endoscope washers, automated endoscope reprocessors,
storage and drying systems or related infection control products;
- A working knowledge of day theatre efficiency metrics, and how equipment footprint and reprocessing cycles affect patient throughput;
- Familiarity with relevant standards, including AS 5369 and ISO 15883; and
- An established network across the Australian gastroenterology, surgical or infection control communities.
Endoscopy experience will distinguish strong candidates, and applications from sellers in adjacent healthcare capital equipment categories are equally welcome. A demonstrated record of winning new business is not negotiable for this appointment. Why Join Macemark Technology?
- A ground floor opportunity to build and lead a new line of the business;
- A trained Sales Coordinator already in place to support quoting and pipeline administration;
- A commission plan agreed with the successful candidate;
- Car allowance and a company credit card for business expenses;
- An optional nine-day fortnight and a permanent remote arrangement;
- A direct reporting line to the Chief Executive Officer, with short decision lines and real influence on sales strategy;
- A stable, established Australian business with a well-supported service network and a reputation built on reliability; and
- A clear growth path, with success in this role leading to commercial leadership as the endoscopy line grows into a division.
