ABOUT THE ROLE

Own WHS across a national specialist services business and take a seat in the leadership group. This is a senior, hands-on role: you are the face of FAMASO for safety, a regular presence on sites in every state, and the leader our Operations Managers, supervisors and WHS Coordinators look to on safety, backed by the leadership group. Beyond safety, you are the senior figure our operations leaders call on for high-level people matters: disciplinary processes and return to work.

Your mandate is to keep FAMASO in front of safety: issues found and fixed on site, standards lifted year on year, and a safety culture our clients see for themselves.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Own the WHS framework, assurance and reporting nationally across rope access, EWP and BMU, drones, pressure washing and specialist cleaning
- Represent FAMASO on safety with our clients: safety meetings, pre-starts, performance reviews and investigations
- Support the State Operations Managers with regular site visits, audits and coaching, attending sites on behalf of the Head of Operations and at times with them
- Lead incident and hazard management nationally: investigations end to end using ICAM, with corrective actions closed out on time
- Deliver a risk-based national audit programme with assurance over our critical risks: rope access, BMU and EWP, drones, pressure cleaning, subcontractor competency, fatigue, dropped objects and public protection
- Present new SWIs, SOPs and critical updates to the management team in each state, and deliver WHS training that lands in the field
- Mentor and develop our WHS Coordinators, setting the standard for their work and building their progression
- Drive continuous improvement into our in-house digital WHS systems, in partnership with the General Manager




- Take the lead on people, disciplinary and return to work matters: the senior figure supporting our Operations Managers and Head of Operations through disciplinary processes, and guiding return to work cases through to resolution, without the HR administration.

ABOUT YOU

- Minimum 5 years’ WHS experience in construction, industrial services, facilities management, trades or a similar field-based environment
- Diploma of Work Health and Safety or equivalent preferred (Certificate IV considered with substantial senior WHS experience)
- Formal ICAM training (or equivalent) with proven experience leading investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Demonstrated experience leading WHS across multi-site or national operations
- Strong on SWMS, risk assessments and rescue plans, and confident presenting to management teams, crews and clients
- Calm under pressure, discreet with people matters, and credible in front of clients, insurers and regulators
- Able and willing to travel nationally on a regular basis
