What Role You Will Play In Team JD:-

- Cyber Role: Firewall Vulnerability Remediation & Upgrade Specialist (Cisco FXOS, FTD & FMC)
- Department: Cyber Security & Risk Services
- Time zone: AU Region – 9AM to 6PM Sydney /Melbourne Time
- Organizational Relationship: Reports to Manager - Information Technology Risk Officer
- Position Purpose: We are seeking a proactive and technically robust Firewall Vulnerability

Remediation & Upgrade Specialist to manage security vulnerability remediation, software lifecycle management, and upgrade activities across Cisco Secure Firewall environments. The role focuses on identifying software vulnerabilities, assessing security risks, coordinating remediation activities, and executing upgrades for Cisco FXOS, Firepower Threat Defense (FTD), and Firepower

Management Center (FMC) platforms.

- Responsibilities (Tasks):





As a Vulnerability Management & Remediation Specialist, your primary tasks will include:
- Validate security vulnerabilities affecting Cisco FXOS, FTD, FMC, and related security

infrastructure.
- Review Cisco Security Advisories, PSIRT notifications, CVEs, and vendor-recommended

fixes.
- Assess vulnerability impact, exploitability, and business risk.
- Prioritise remediation activities based on organisational risk frameworks.
- Remediate vulnerabilities through to closure and maintain remediation records.
- Additionally, you will also be responsible for the remediation of identified vulnerabilities

for Cisco switches, routers and F5 platform as secondary support.
- Remediation Coordination:

Raise tasks in ServiceNow for patching and remediation. Follow up with internal IT teams and external vendors to ensure timely closure.
- Exception & Risk Management:

Identify cases where patches cannot be deployed. Raise appropriate risk exceptions and document compensating controls or mitigation strategies.
- Reporting & Dashboards:

Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using ServiceNow and Excel. Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports with executive summaries for leadership.

Collaborate with vendors, system owners, administrators, and security teams to validate findings, plan remediation, and track progress.

- Process Improvement:

Contribute to the development and refinement of patching processes, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.

Candidate should possess foundational and practical knowledge in the following areas:
- Cisco Security Platforms
- Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD)
- Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC)

- Technical Skills

▪ Hands-on experience with Cisco FXOS, FTD and FMC upgrades. ▪ Strong understanding of vulnerability remediation processes.

▪ Experience assessing security advisories and vulnerability impacts.

▪ Experience performing software lifecycle and version management.

▪ Strong troubleshooting expertise across enterprise firewall platforms.

- Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to analyze complex security vulnerabilities & exploits.
- Problem Solving: Aptitude for diagnosing and resolving security tasks efficiently and

effectively.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to

articulate complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences (e.g., end-users, management).
- Collaboration & Teamwork: Ability to work effectively within a team environment and

collaborate cross-functionally with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Documentation: Skill in creating clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation,

including process, procedures, reports and knowledge articles.
- Prioritisations & Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize

effectively, and perform under pressure during exploit situations.
- Experience & Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Cisco FTD, FMC and FXOS

platforms.
- Certifications (preferred):

▪ CCNP Security ▪ CCIE Security
- Preferred Technical Skills: Familiarity with ServiceNow, SolarWinds and Zabbix.
