Prestige Plants is looking for an experienced, ambitious Nursery Site Manager to take full responsibility for our 30-acre production nursery in Alstonville.

This is a genuine site-leadership role.

You will have your own nursery to run — with responsibility for production, plant quality, people, maintenance and weekly dispatch — while being backed by the systems, customers and resources of a much larger nursery business.

Our Alstonville site focuses on small-pot production and trees and supplies stock into Prestige Plants’ broader operations, including our major nursery and dispatch site at Kinglake, Victoria.

The Role

You will run Alstonville day to day and be trusted to make the site perform.

Your responsibilities will include

- Producing consistently high-quality plants and trees.
- Planning and managing production across the 30-acre site.
- Managing irrigation, nutrition, pests, disease and crop maintenance.
- Driving potting, spacing, pruning, staking and growing programmes.
- Leading the nursery team and setting transparent daily priorities.
- Keeping the site, machinery, irrigation and infrastructure in excellent condition.
- Preparing accurate, high-quality stock for weekly dispatch.
- Maintaining reliable stock and production information.
- Working closely with sales, nursery and logistics teams in Victoria.
- Planning future production around customer demand.
- Solving problems quickly and improving how the nursery operates.





This is a hands-on role. You will spend plenty of time in the nursery inspecting crops, directing work and solving practical problems, but you must also be highly capable on the phone and computer.

Alstonville is part of a larger interstate business, so excellent communication with the Victorian team is essential.

About You

You are a strong production nursery operator who wants real responsibility and genuine ownership. You know what good plants look like, understand how to produce them efficiently and take pride in running a clean, organised and productive site.

You will ideally bring

- Strong commercial production nursery experience.
- Excellent practical knowledge of growing small pots and trees.
- Strong understanding of Northern Rivers growing conditions.
- Good knowledge of irrigation, nutrition, pests and diseases.
- Experience leading nursery or horticultural teams.
- Strong organisation and attention to detail.
- The ability to plan ahead while keeping daily production moving.
- Excellent phone, email and computer skills.
- Confidence using spreadsheets and inventory or production systems.
- The ability to work autonomously and make decisions.
- High energy, urgency and pride in the site you run.

Formal horticultural qualifications are useful,



but practical ability and a record of producing excellent plants matter more.

This role will suit someone who wants more than a production supervisor position. You will have clear responsibility for the Alstonville site and the freedom to make it better.

You will be expected to know what is happening across the nursery, set standards, improve production and make decisions without waiting to be told what to do.

At the same time, you will have the backing of Prestige Plants’ broader sales, production, logistics and management teams.

Remuneration

We expect to pay $120,000–$150,000 + superannuation + vehicle, depending on experience and capability. We are prepared to pay strongly for someone who can genuinely own the site, improve production and consistently deliver excellent plants.
