We are seeking Work Health and Safety (WHS) Case Managers at the APS6 level for our Commonwealth Government client based in Canberra, ACT. The successful candidate will help deliver the agency’s WHS, injury management and wellbeing programs, providing specialist advice and case management support to achieve positive workplace outcomes.

An initial 6 - 12-month non-ongoing APS contract is on offer, with possibility of extension. Temporary s26 transfers are also available to candidates currently employed in the APS on an ongoing basis. This role is full-time (37.5 hours per week) and flexible work arrangements will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Please note: only Australian citizens with an ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance can be considered for this role.

Duties:

- Manage workplace health, safety and wellbeing matters, including the coordination of employee support and return-to-work arrangements.
- Provide advice and guidance to employees and managers on workplace wellbeing, safety and related compliance requirements.
- Support the development and delivery of workplace health, safety and wellbeing initiatives and programs.
- Assist with risk management activities, incident management processes, workplace assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to governance, reporting and administrative activities, including record keeping, policy implementation and compliance monitoring.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders to support service delivery and positive outcomes.

Requisite skills and experience:

- Significant experience in at least one of the following areas, with experience across both considered highly desirable:
- injury management, rehabilitation and return-to-work, including experience liaising with Comcare; or
- work health and safety, supported by a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (BSB41419).

- Robust stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Experience managing sensitive and complex matters while maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion.
- Sound judgement, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide practical advice and recommendations.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- A commitment to continuous improvement, quality service delivery, and positive outcomes.
