Support Worker

Location: Cheltenham, VIC

Start: 28 September 2026

Employment Type: Casual / Part Time

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Support Worker to provide 1:1 care to a participant who is wheelchair-bound and requires a high level of skilled, hands-on support. This is an urgent requirement with an immediate start available.

About the Role

You will support a participant who:

- Is wheelchair-bound and requires manual handling for all transfers
- Requires PEG feeding support
- Requires catheter-related care
- Requires assistance with diabetes management
- Requires support with all activities of daily living

Key Responsibilities

- Provide 1:1 personal care support
- Prepare meals in line with dietary requirements
- Administer medication as per care plan
- Perform safe manual handling and wheelchair transfers
- Provide hoist transfers
- Provide catheter-related support
- Administer PEG feeds in line with clinical guidelines




- Support diabetes management (training provided)
- Maintain accurate documentation and incident reporting
- Communicate professionally with family, guardians and other stakeholders

Essential Experience & Skills

- Practical, hands-on experience in personal care
- Practical experience in PEG feeding
- Practical experience with hoist transfers and manual handling
- Practical experience with catheter-related support
- Good English proficiency, written and verbal
- Ability to remain calm, patient and skilled in a hands-on care setting
- Strong communication skills

Requirements

- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Current First Aid & CPR
- Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle
- Willingness to complete diabetes management training if not already held.
