About the role
We are seeking a casual Office Manager to join our team at Aspect Chambers in Brisbane to work 2 or 3 days per week. This position is ideal for a law student. The position offers flexibility whilst you will be contributing to the smooth operation of our chambers.
As Office
Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring our office runs efficiently. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day office operations, maintaining our facilities, and providing professional support to keep our barristers functioning at their best.
What you'll be doing
- Matters per the Legal clerical and administrative employee , Legal Services Award 2020 [MA000116] description.
- Administrative support.
- Document formatting and / or preparation from time to time.
- Managing, maintaining and operating the office.
- Managing, maintaining and operating the office equipment.
- Managing, maintaining and ordering office supplies.
- Limited typing and transcript preparation using transcription services.
- Liaising with external providers, clients, barristers, solicitors, contractors, customers, visitors and guests.
- Answering phones, forwarding phones and taking messages.
- Managing and organising brief collection and pick up.
- Banking as required from time to time.
- Legal research (where skilled or trained to do so).
- Social media posts and website updates as required (where skilled or trained to do so).
- Coordinating with external suppliers and service providers.
- Supporting the smooth running of office events and activities as required.
- Ensuring compliance with office policies and health and safety standards.
- Other reasonable office related tasks from time to time.
What we're looking for
- Law students are highly desirable.
- Previous office experience is not required.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and office management software.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
- Professional demeanour with a customer service-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
