Job title: Oracle HCM Technical Architect (Contract) - Sydney or Melbourne

Most Oracle HCM architect roles want a module expert. This one wants a builder.

Somewhere inside a large, well-known Australian organisation, a major HR and payroll transformation is well under way. The HR platform is moving to Oracle HCM Cloud, the payroll platform is changing alongside it, and the two need to talk to each other perfectly from day one.

They need an architect who can own the end-to-end design, and who has also rolled their sleeves up on the integrations and implementation that make it work.

If your experience is mostly workshops, configuration workbooks and module setup, this one isn't for you, and we'd rather tell you now. If you've designed it, built it and seen it through go-live, keep reading.

What you'll actually be doing

- Designing end-to-end Oracle HCM solutions that are scalable, compliant and stand up to architecture review
- Working out how HCM connects to payroll, workforce management and everything downstream, and making sure it holds up in production
- Thinking three moves ahead on design decisions, so HR, payroll and rostering don't get a nasty surprise at cutover




- Working with implementation partners and the integration, security, reporting and data migration teams
- Staying with the solution through testing, defect resolution, cutover and go-live

What you'll bring

- 7+ years delivering Oracle HCM Cloud solutions
- Strong Core HR, plus at least one of Talent, Learning, Recruiting, Compensation or Workforce Management
- Hands-on integration and data migration experience, whether that's HDL, HCM Extracts, OIC, Fast Formulas or similar
- A track record of owning end-to-end design, not just building to someone else's
- Experience on large-scale HR transformation programmes
- The stakeholder skills to hold a design review with senior people and a build session with developers on the same day

The practical bits

- Day rate contract
- Sydney based, ideally, but Melbourne will do at a pinch, hybrid, ideally two to three days on site
- No direct reports, just a very significant solution to own
