Deakin Dental Care is a privately owned, general dental practice located in the affluent inner south Canberra suburb of Deakin. The practice is a 4-chair practice established in 2022 offering all facets of general dentistry including implant placement, surgical extractions and treatment under IV sedation.
We are looking for an Oral Health Therapist or Hygienist to join our friendly team of dental professionals.
About you:
- Ideally, at least 2+ years of experience, however, our experienced Principal Dentist is onsite full time and available to support and mentor someone so we are happy to consider all applicants.
- Be open to learning and constructive feedback.
- Be patient-centric. Patients are the core of what we do and why we do it, we want our patients to feel welcome and part of our extended family. Our patient base does consist of anxious, nervous and patients with disabilities, being able to build a rapport with all patients and become that person they look forward to seeing, is imperative.
- Be able to work independently. We do have a team of dental assistants and if needed, one will be allocated to assist, but generally this role will be autonomous and you will need to turn over your room and assist in reprocessing of instruments in between patients.
- Work well within a team.
- Be up to date with the latest technology and treatment options and actively seek further learning and opportunities to further develop your skills.
- Hold a recognised tertiary qualification that allows you to work as an Oral Health Therapist/Hygienist within Australia.
- Hold the relevant registration and licences.
- Have working rights in Australia and be able to provide evidence of this.

- Working collaboratively with our team of dentists so that patient receives a combined approach with their treatment options and needs.
- Flexible days/hours, we would ideally like someone 2-3 days a week to coincide with our Senior dentists schedules and provide that support, however we are flexible for the right candidate.
- Regular pay cycles and competitive hourly rates - we are happy to negotiate for the right person but rates start from $55-$65 per hour.
- Access to a supportive Principal Dentist and Practice Manager on a daily basis.

- Fully digital practice with onsite OPG/CBCT facilities.
