Medical Director BBVSTI and Immunisation

This temporary part-time leadership role provides strategic clinical direction for statewide Blood Borne Viruses, Sexually Transmissible Infections and Immunisation programs. As a key member of the Communicable Diseases Branch Leadership Team you will shape public health policy, lead critical statewide initiatives and provide expert advice on significant health issues impacting Queensland communities.

The Successful Candidate

Will be able to demonstrate:

- A medical qualification and fellowship of an Australasian Specialist College (FRACGP, FACRRM or equivalent) with current registration (or eligibility for registration) with AHPRA.
- A specialist qualification in Public Health Medicine will be highly regarded.
- Leadership capabilities
- The ability to build productive relationships with stakeholders across government, healthcare and community sectors.
- Extensive experience providing expert clinical and strategic advice supporting development, delivery and evaluation of statewide public health programs, policies and initiatives.




- Strong communication and representation skills
- Ability to influence outcomes and represent Queensland Health at local, state and national forums.
- Flexibility to participate in an on‑call roster, work outside standard hours when required and undertake occasional interstate and intrastate travel.
- On top of a generous base salary, additional allowances apply including MVA, PDA, retention and attraction 50% base salary and clinical manager's allowance.
