An exciting opportunity is available for a PhilanthropyCampaign Director to join the Public Affairs team at Burnet!

The Philanthropy Campaign Director is a critical strategicleadership role established to build the long-term philanthropic capacityneeded to deliver on Burnet Institute’s purpose. Reporting to the Executive GMPhilanthropy & Supporter Engagement, you will lead the design and deliveryof Burnet’s comprehensive fundraising campaigns and drive new philanthropicgrowth through principal and major gift relationships with national andinternational supporters.

In this role, you will hold a personal portfolio ofprincipal gift prospects while leading the Campaign and Principal Gifts team tobuild a sustainable philanthropy pipeline, secure new transformational giftsand deliver ambitious campaign targets aligned to the Burnet 2030 Strategy.

You will also:

- Leadthe development and execution of Burnet’s comprehensive campaign plan,including campaign phases, targets, key milestones, deliverables andbudget.
- Personallymanage a portfolio of principal and lead gift prospects, leading theiridentification, cultivation, solicitation, negotiation and stewardship.
- Drivethe identification and engagement of new high-value donors across nationaland international markets and strengthen Burnet’s philanthropy pipeline.
- Buildand support campaign volunteer leadership and work closely with the CEO,Board, Executive, researchers and senior leaders to enable effective donorengagement and solicitation.
- Lead,develop and coach the Campaign and Principal Gifts team, fostering ahigh-performance and outcomes-focused culture.

The following criteria are essential requirements:

- Principaland major gift success: Proven success in developing new business andbuilding a strong pipeline that has secured principal and major gifts.
- Campaignleadership: A strategic thinker with proven experience leading andproject managing fundraising campaigns or equivalent growth initiatives.
- Teamleadership: Experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Experiencein complex or matrixed organisations:



Demonstrated experience buildingalignment across senior leaders, specialist teams and operationalfunctions to progress priorities and achieve campaign outcomes.
- Relationshipbuilding and senior stakeholder influence: Demonstrated abilitytobuild trusted relationships, influence effectively and operate withcredibility at senior levels, including with donors, executives andpartners.
- Volunteerand executive engagement: Demonstrated experience recruiting, briefingand supporting senior volunteers, Board members and executives insolicitation roles.
- CRM,financial management and forecasting capability: Demonstrated abilityto use CRM data and reporting to maintain accurate pipeline information,produce reliable revenue forecasts, and manage campaign budgets andfinancial performance against targets.

The following is preferable/desirable but not essential:

- Experiencein health, research or not-for-profit fundraising.
