The Position: n

We are seeking an enthusiastic Project Accountant to join our team at our Ballarat Head Office on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role plays a key part in supporting the financial operations of the business through accurate project costing, monitoring, and reporting. The position also involves managing fixed assets and assisting with month-end accounting processes across multiple entities.

Employment: Permanent Full-Time Monday to Friday 8am start (38 hrs)

Part-Time option (min. 30hrs) would be considered for the right candidate

Location: Delacombe

Key Responsibilities n

n
- Setup budget tracking files for new projects, updating revenue / costs against budgets weekly, updating forecasts as the project progresses
n
- Monitor actual spend vs budget, analyse cost variances and provide insights to project operations team
n




- Prepare supporting documentation and issue invoices for monthly project progress claims and spare parts orders
n
- Monitor WIP and process accrual journals
n
- Monthly stock reconciliations and COGS journals, working with operations team to resolve issues
n
- Maintain the company fixed asset registers, conducting regular asset audits and ensuring all fixed asset transactions are processed monthly
n
- Identify areas for improvement in current processes and assist with the development of new systems as we grow our footprint and product offering
n
- Assist the wider finance function as required to meet the needs of the business
n

About You n

You will bring proven experience in a similar role, along with:

n

- A degree in Accounting or Finance
n
- Strong knowledge of job costing and work-in-progress (WIP) management
n
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
n
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work
n
- A continuous improvement mindset, with the confidence to challenge and enhance existing systems and processes
n
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across operational teams
n
- Experience within a manufacturing or construction environment will be highly regarded
n
