About the role

JD Painting and Rendering is seeking an experienced and reliable Painter to join our team in Launceston, Tasmania. The successful applicant will work on residential and commercial painting projects and will be responsible for surface preparation, painting and finishing work.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling and priming.

- Prepare and apply paints, primers, stains and other coatings.

- Apply paint using brushes, rollers and spray equipment where required.

- Mix paints and coatings to achieve the required colour and finish.

- Carry out interior and exterior painting and finishing work.

- Perform minor patching and surface repairs before painting.

- Protect surrounding areas, fixtures and surfaces during painting work.

- Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment.

- Follow workplace health and safety requirements and use appropriate PPE.





- Complete work to a high standard and within required timeframes.

About you

- Previous experience as a Painter or Painter and Decorator.

- Experience in surface preparation and painting.

- Ability to use common painting tools and equipment.

- Good attention to detail and quality workmanship.

- Ability to work safely and follow instructions.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Reliable and professional approach to work.

- Ability to undertake physical trade work.

- Relevant painting trade qualification.

- Construction White Card.

Advantages

- Salary of $80,000 – $85,000 per annum + superannuation, depending on skills and experience.
