Perth's Outback Splash is looking for a practical, hands-on Park Maintenance & Handyperson Team Member to join our year-round Park and Aquatics Team.

This is not a role where every day looks the same.

You could be completing morning park-readiness checks, repairing a building or piece of equipment, working on landscaping or irrigation, assisting with pool and waterpark operations, polishing waterslides during winter, or helping deliver one of our ongoing park improvement projects.

If you are the sort of person who is good at doing, fixing and figuring things out, this could be a great fit.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting directly to our Mechanic and Parks Team Leader, you will also work closely with our Park and Aquatics Maintenance Manager and Presentation and Parks Team Leader. This is a highly active role supporting the safe, reliable and efficient operation of Perth's Outback Splash.

Your work will cover a broad mix of:

- general building and facility maintenance
- landscaping, gardens and irrigation
- machinery, tools and equipment
- preventative maintenance and inspections
- pool, waterpark and waterslide operations
- seasonal maintenance and winter projects
- park presentation and operational readiness
- minor construction and improvement projects.

The role includes regular interaction with Guests, so while practical capability is important, being friendly, approachable and professional matters too.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

- Complete daily maintenance and park-readiness tasks to ensure facilities are safe, clean and ready for Guests.
- Carry out general building, facility and handyperson repairs and improvements.
- Operate a range of machinery, tools and equipment safely and responsibly.
- Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance to identify issues before they become larger problems.
- Assist with landscaping, garden maintenance, irrigation and general grounds work.




- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and operational issues, helping minimise disruption to Guests.
- Maintain accurate maintenance, servicing and inspection records through our digital systems.
- Assist with water-quality testing, pool plant and aquatic operations once appropriately trained and qualified.
- Participate in our winter maintenance program, including projects, repairs, slide polishing and preparation for the following summer.
- Assist with construction, landscaping and park-development projects as required.
- Work collaboratively with the wider Park, Aquatics and Presentation Teams.

The expectation is simple: notice things, fix what you can, raise what you can't, and take pride in leaving the park better than you found it.

POOL OPERATIONS QUALIFICATION

Aquatic operations form part of this position.

Applicants must either

- already hold a recognised Pool Operations / Pool Technical Operator qualification, or
- be willing to obtain the required qualification during employment.

If you already have experience with pools, water treatment or aquatic plant, even better. If not, we are prepared to support the right person through the required training and qualification.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who is practical, reliable and comfortable working across a wide variety of tasks. Ideally, you will bring:
- experience in general maintenance, handyperson work, building maintenance, landscaping or a similar hands-on role
- strong practical and problem-solving ability
- experience safely using tools, machinery and maintenance equipment




- a good eye for detail and a proactive approach to maintenance and safety
- the ability to work independently while still being a strong Team contributor
- positive communication skills and a positive attitude
- confidence working outdoors throughout the year
- a willingness to learn new systems, equipment and skills
- a Pool Operations / Pool Technical Operator qualification, or a willingness to obtain one during employment.

If you have experience with mechanical repairs, welding or metal fabrication, that would also be an advantage.

HOURS AND ROSTER

This is a full-time role operating on a nine-day fortnight. The roster primarily includes weekdays, with rotating weekend and public holiday responsibilities, particularly during Perth's Outback Splash's summer operating season.

The nature of a waterpark means some flexibility is required around peak trading periods, maintenance programs and major projects, but the nine-day fortnight forms part of the normal working arrangement.
