About the role

KFI Toowoomba is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Parts Interpreter to join our team on a full-time basis. Based in Toowoomba, QLD, this role is essential to our operations, bridging the gap between customers, technicians, and suppliers by accurately identifying, sourcing, and interpreting vehicle parts and components. As a Parts Interpreter, you will play a critical role in ensuring our customers receive the correct parts first time, minimising delays and maintaining customer satisfaction.

This position is integral to the smooth functioning of our automotive business and directly impacts our reputation for excellence in the industry.

Key responsibilities

- Accurately identify and interpret vehicle parts and components using technical manuals, catalogues, and digital systems
- Communicate with customers to understand their parts requirements and clarify specifications
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to source appropriate parts and components
- Maintain detailed records of parts requests, orders, and inventory
- Use computer systems and parts management software to locate, track, and process parts orders
- Verify part numbers and specifications to ensure accuracy before ordering or dispatch
- Respond promptly to customer enquiries regarding parts availability and lead times
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal technical teams
- Support the workshop team by ensuring timely availability of required parts and components
- Assist with stock management and monitor inventory levels for commonly used parts

What we're looking for

- Proven experience working as a Parts Interpreter, Parts Advisor, or in a similar automotive parts role
- Strong knowledge of vehicle parts, components, and automotive systems
- Proficiency with parts management software and digital ordering systems




- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in identifying and recording part specifications
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Robust organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple requests simultaneously
- Customer service excellence with a commitment to resolving issues promptly
- Familiarity with relevant vehicle identification systems (VIN decoding) is advantageous
- A valid Australian driver's licence is preferred
- Knowledge of health and safety practices within an automotive environment
