About the role Help shape the provision of spiritual and pastoral care of residents, families and staff at Calvary, ensuring their diverse spiritual needs are identified and responded to with exceptional sensitivity, compassion, knowledge and skill.

The Pastoral Care Practitioner participates as a member of the care team in the delivery of services to residents and their family members, and is responsible for ensuring that the diverse pastoral and spiritual needs of residents, their families and staff are identified and responded to. The position of Pastoral Care Practitioner is part of an integrated team of people working within an established and agreed framework supporting the resident to live their best life.

As the Pastoral Care Practitioner some of your main duties will include:

- Offering compassionate emotional and spiritual care to residents in ways that honour their individual needs, values, beliefs, and life experiences.
- Providing emotional and spiritual support to family members and staff when needed, recognising the impact that illness, ageing, loss, and change can have on all those involved in the journey of care.
- Building collaborative and trusting relationships with Calvary staff, local faith communities, community organisations, and other care partners to support the wellbeing and flourishing of residents.
- Creating spaces of welcome, connection, meaning, and belonging that reflect Calvary's mission and commitment to the dignity of every person.
- Offering compassionate spiritual and emotional care to our residents and their families at the end-of-life.





About you You are a highly engaged professional practitioner, seeking to uphold the dignity of people living in residential aged care and seeking to make a meaningful contribution to their wellbeing.

- A tertiary qualification in pastoral care, spiritual direction, counselling or similar
- Clinical Pastoral Education and/or equivalent Recent experience working in a similar role in aged care, health care or community care
- Established skills in preparation, creation, leadership and facilitation of meaningful rituals
- Eligibility for SCA certified membership
