Health and Safety Systems and Compliance Coordinator

We operate a multi-million-dollar fleet of specialised underground mining equipment across multiple continents and conditions.

An exciting opportunity now exists for an experienced Systems & Compliance Manager to join our SEQT team at Prominent Hill.

This role is responsible for the governance, assurance and continual improvement of safety, training and compliance systems across the operation. Working closely with site leadership, operational teams and our client, you will provide confidence that safety management systems remain effective, compliance obligations are met and training and competency requirements are maintained.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Manage and continuously improve site Safety, Environment, Quality and Training (SEQT) management systems.

Maintain governance of the site safety management system, procedures, standards and management-specific instructions.

Manage and administer the INX safety management database and related compliance systems.

Coordinate site compliance monitoring programs to verify legislative, client and company requirements are being achieved.

Develop, monitor and report on leading and lagging safety performance indicators.

Prepare monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc compliance and performance reports for site leadership and the client.

Manage training and competency governance systems, including training matrices and role compliance requirements.





Monitor workforce training compliance and coordinate actions to address identified gaps.

Coordinate internal and external audit programs and ensure findings are effectively managed to closure.

Maintain corrective action registers and monitor the effectiveness of action implementation.

Manage compliance registers and assurance activities relating to critical controls, risk management and safety systems.

Support investigation governance through monitoring investigation quality, action completion and learning implementation.

Liaise with operational leaders to ensure compliance obligations are understood and effectively implemented.

Identify trends, emerging risks and system improvement opportunities through data analysis and assurance activities.

Ensure compliance with Byrnecut reporting requirements, client expectations and applicable legislation.

Assist with the development, review and implementation of policies, procedures and site governance documentation.

Other duties as reasonably requested by the Project Manager or Site Safety Manager.

Requirements:

Tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety or closely related discipline.

Minimum 5 years' experience in a Health, Safety, Systems or Compliance role within mining,



heavy industry or construction.

Experience managing safety management systems, compliance frameworks and assurance programs.

Demonstrated experience coordinating audits, inspections and corrective action management processes.

Strong understanding of risk management principles and safety management system governance.

Experience managing training compliance and competency management systems.

Strong understanding of WHS legislation and mining industry compliance requirements.

Experience with incident management systems and reporting platforms, preferably INX.

Demonstrated ability to analyse data and develop meaningful compliance and performance reports.

Ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the business.

Unrestricted working rights within Australia.

Ability to pass a full pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screening and National Police Clearance check.

Current and Valid Australian Manual Driver's Licence.
