To be responsible for the Early Years' Service as the Nominate Supervisor. The role is responsible for the day-to-day operations at the service. This includes ensuring a safe, nurturing, inclusive and high-quality environment that supports children's development, families' needs, and staff wellbeing, while meeting all regulatory and policy requirements.

Position summary

To be responsible for the Early Years' Service as the Nominate Supervisor. The role is responsible for the day-to-day operations at the service. This includes ensuring a safe, nurturing, inclusive and high-quality workplace that supports children's development, families' needs, and staff wellbeing, while meeting all regulatory and policy requirements.

Selection criteria

- Bachelor of Early Childhood Education preferred
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor staff effectively
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to navigate difficult conversations
- Knowledge of National Quality Standards and VEYLDF
- Current driver's license
- Current WWCC and current Police check

Key responsibilities

- Provide strong, positive leadership to educators
- Effectively supervise and lead the day to day operations of the education and care service
- Lead and coordinate procedures in the case of an emergency in collaboration with EYM
- Rearrange staffing to maintain correct ratios (such as: if an educator needs to leave early due to illness)
- Follow all responsibilities of Nominated Supervisor role
- Respond to and/or correctly redirect complaints and grievances from staff and families
- Ability to report in VHIMS to record staff incidents and feedback
- Oversee the development,



implementation and maintenance of the service QIP and educational programs
- Mentor and support trainees
- Ensure all staff have completed online training when required
- Other duties as directed.

Section 21 of the Occupational Health & Safety Act 2004, requires an Employer to provide and maintain, so far as is reasonable and practicable, a safe workplace for all employees and ensure that no employee is placed at risk of injury while performingthe duties and responsibilities required by their position.

To comply with this obligation, MTHCS requires all candidates/employees to have the mental and physical capacity to safely perform the inherent requirements of the position they are applying for (or have been appointed to).

If a risk is identified and fitness to safely perform the duties of the position needs to be determined, MTHCS with the agreement of the candidate/employee, will arrange an independent medical assessment to determine capacity to safely perform the inherentrequirements of the position to minimise the risk of injury or aggravation of any pre-existing condition the candidate/employee may have.
