We are seeking an experienced and motivated Venue Supervisor to join our team at the Australian Museum . About the Role
n
As Venue Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in leading daily operations and setting the standard for service excellence. Supporting the Venue Manager, you will be a hands-on leader who motivates the team, drives performance, and creates memorable guest experiences.
n
You will lead from the front, ensuring seamless service across café, restaurant, and event operations while maintaining high standards of hospitality, food safety, and team engagement.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Lead, coach, and inspire front-of-house team members to deliver exceptional customer service
n
- Foster a positive team culture focused on accountability, development, and guest satisfaction
n
- Train and mentor staff in service standards, coffee preparation, beverage knowledge, and operational excellence
n
- Create effective rosters that balance business requirements with team wellbeing
n
- Support the Venue Manager in achieving labour, sales, and customer satisfaction targets
n
- Oversee daily venue operations, ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures
n
- Manage guest feedback and resolve service issues professionally and confidently
n
- Work collaboratively with kitchen, events, and management teams to deliver seamless service
n
- Ensure consistently high standards in coffee preparation, beverage service, presentation, and customer experience
n
n
About You
n
You are an experienced hospitality professional who leads by example and has a genuine passion for developing people and delivering outstanding service.
n
To be successful in this role, you will have:
n
n
- Previous leadership experience in a busy hospitality, café, restaurant, or premium food and beverage environment
n
- Strong coffee skills, including espresso preparation, milk texturing, and quality control
n
- Sound beverage knowledge, including non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverage service
n
- A proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams
n
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-first mindset
n
- Experience with rostering, labour management, and operational KPIs
n
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
n
- A genuine passion for hospitality, service excellence, and continuous improvement
n
- Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and occasional evening functions as required
n
