We are looking for a confident, practical, and resilient Youth Worker to join our assertive Beach Reach program on a casual basis. Operating across Sydney’s Northern Beaches, this after-hours program meets young people where they naturally gather—providing calm, respectful support when they need it most.

- Shifts: Friday and Saturday evenings (approx. 5:00 PM to late).
n
- The Role: Partnering alongside another Outreach Worker, you’ll drive the Beach Reach van, navigate local hotspots, liaise with police, build instant rapport, and act as a steady, positive presence.

- Type: Casual (Minimum commitment of 1 shift per week on either Friday or Saturday).
n

About You

n

n
- You stay grounded under pressure and can effortlessly engage young people in public spaces to build trust quickly.
n
- Bring around 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience in youth work, youth justice, community services, casework, or a related field.
n




- Skilled in supporting vulnerable youth with complex needs and deeply understanding the challenges tied to the youth justice system.
n
- You connect easily and respectfully with young people, their families, and wider support networks.
n

Essential Requirements

n

n
- Minimum tertiary qualification of a Certificate IV in youth work or a related discipline (community services, teaching or mentoring)
n
- Current unrestricted NSW Driver Licence (and access to an insured vehicle).
n
- Current paid Working with Children Check and First Aid Certificate (or a willingness to obtain them before starting).
n
- Willingness to complete a National Police Clearance Check .
n
- Proven strengths in conflict resolution, problem-solving, and de-escalation.
