ABOUT THE ROLE
Title: Payroll Officer
Location: Surrey Hills, VIC or Bathurst street Hobart, TAS
Employment: Full time / Fixed Term (12 months)
Ready to take the next step in your payroll career? Join Able Australia's supportive payroll team and gain experience delivering payroll for approximately 1,200 employees across a national not-for-profit organisation.
This is an opportunity to build your expertise in complex award and enterprise agreement interpretation while working with a team that shares knowledge and supports one another. You'll help ensure employees across Victoria, Tasmania, Queensland and the ACT are paid accurately and on time.
Skills and experience required to be successful in this role:
Essential:
- Experience processing payroll and an understanding of the end-to-end payroll process.
- Knowledge of relevant payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
- Confidence using payroll systems and Excel to maintain records, complete checks and investigate discrepancies.
- Proficiency in payroll systems and HRIS platforms, with solid Excel and data-management skills.
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and stakeholder-engagement skills.
- Strong judgement and problem-solving skills when resolving payroll discrepancies.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines during busy payroll periods.
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and protecting sensitive employee information.
Desirable:
- Experience with the SCHADS Award or payroll in a large, multisite organisation would be valuable, but we also welcome applications from payroll professionals ready to grow into this complexity.
- Experience with TechnologyOne or Carelink.
- Certificate IV in Payroll Administration or related discipline
- Understanding of the disability sector and NDIS
