Payroll Officer | Part-Time Contract | Northern Suburbs Melbourne

Your new companyAn exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a leading community health organisation based in Melbourne's northern suburbs.

Your new roleReporting to the Finance Manager and working closely with the wider finance team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end payroll function for approximately 320 employees across a diverse workforce.This is an 8-week contract opportunity working three days per week, with Tuesday fixed and two other days flexible. There is potential for the position to become ongoing for the right candidate.

Your responsibilities will include

- End-to-end payroll processing for approximately 320 employees
- Interpreting and applying multiple Awards and Enterprise Agreements
- Processing shift penalties, allowances and complex payroll calculations
- Managing payroll reconciliations and reporting requirements
- Supporting WGEA and other statutory reporting obligations
- Administering salary packaging arrangements




- Maintaining payroll compliance and employee records
- Responding to payroll-related queries from employees and managers
- Collaborating with finance colleagues to ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery

What you'll need to succeedTo be considered for this position, you will have:

- Proven end-to-end payroll experience within a medium-sized organisation
- Previous experience using ELMO Payroll or strong ELMO system knowledge
- Experience processing payroll across multiple Awards and EBAs
- Knowledge of portable long service leave schemes and penalty rate calculations
- Exposure to salary packaging administration
- Strong reconciliation and reporting experience
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
- A flexible and hands-on approach to supporting both transactional and higher-level payroll activities
- A genuine alignment with values of diversity, equity and inclusion
