Our client is a global leader in manufacturing and gas handling solutions across sectors including power generation, oil and gas, waste water, metals, mining, infrastructure and transport. Due to growth, we are seeking a Payroll Specialistto join their team in for a 12 month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, company policies, and award requirements. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

The role:

- Process weekly, fortnightly, and/or monthly payroll accurately and on time.
- Calculate wages, salaries, overtime, allowances, bonuses, deductions, and leave entitlements.
- Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data accuracy.
- Interpret and apply relevant awards, enterprise agreements, and employment legislation.
- Process new starters, terminations, salary changes, and employee benefits.
- Manage superannuation, payroll tax, workers compensation, and statutory obligations.
- Prepare and reconcile payroll reports and end-of-month payroll journals.
- Ensure compliance with Fair Work legislation and company policies.
- Respond to payroll-related queries from employees and management.
- Assist with payroll audits and reporting requirements.
- Support the HR and Finance teams with payroll administration and related activities

What we're looking for:





- Previous experience in a Payroll Specialist, Payroll Officer, or similar payroll position.
- Certificate IV in Payroll Administration, Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related field (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards, and employment standards.
- Experience using payroll systems such as ADP, Success Factors and Workday (favourable)
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Solid numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
