People Systems and Analytics Specialist
Parental Leave Contract | approx. 12 months
Approx. $130-$140K package, based on experience
Melbourne Based
? Who are we?
We’re partnering with an established organisation looking for a People Systems & Analytics Specialist to join its People team on a parental leave contract.
Sitting at the intersection of HR, systems and data, this role is all about making sure the organisation’s people technology works effectively, its workforce data can be trusted, and its leaders have access to meaningful insights when they need them.
You’ll work closely with the Head of Systems & Optimisations, supporting the day-to-day functionality of the HRIS and ATS, improving workflows and helping translate business needs into practical systems and reporting solutions.
The formal position description describes the role as supporting the optimisation of people systems, workforce data integrity, reporting and process improvement.
? Who are you?
You’re probably the person in your HR team who actually enjoys digging into a system when something doesn’t look quite right.
You understand HR data, not just software.
You can pull a report, spot something odd, work out why it’s happening and understand what that information actually means in a people context.
You don’t need to be a developer or heavy backend configurator. This role is much more HRIS super user reporting problem solver.
You’ll be comfortable talking to People & Culture stakeholders one minute and system vendors or technical support teams the next, translating between the two without making things unnecessarily complicated.
? Day to day
No two days will look exactly the same, but your responsibilities will include:
- Maintain and support core People systems and system functionality
- Monitor and improve workforce data accuracy and integrity
- Pull reports and respond to ad hoc people data requests
- Analyse workforce information and turn data into useful insights
- Support reporting across areas such as turnover, retention, demographics and employee progression
- Support onboarding and offboarding workflows
- Troubleshoot system issues and investigate recurring problems
- Work with external vendors and technical support teams
- Support integrations between People systems
- Identify opportunities to simplify or improve workflows
- Help enhance reporting capability and dashboards
- Support annual and recurring workforce reporting requirements
- Translate stakeholder questions into practical system or reporting solutions
? What’s in your toolkit?
Must-haves:
- Experience in HR systems, People systems, HRIS or people data
- Strong understanding of HR processes and employee lifecycle workflows
- Experience maintaining data integrity and conducting data checks
- Reporting and people analytics capability
- Strong Excel skills
- Ability to interpret data and identify trends or insights
- Experience working with HR / People & Culture stakeholders
- Confidence troubleshooting system issues
- Ability to communicate effectively with external system vendors or technical teams
- Strong attention to detail
- Proactive problem-solving skills
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with HRIS and ATS integrations
- Exposure to system implementation or enhancement projects
- Dashboard or workforce analytics experience
- Experience within a larger or structured organisation
- intelliHR experience
- Springboard experience
And importantly, you do not need the specific system experience they have in place. The team can train you on intelliHR and Springboard. What matters more is that you understand the logic behind HR systems, integrations, reporting and people data.
Why This Role?
- Parental leave contract with a proper handover period
- Approx. $130K-$140K package, based on experience
- Melbourne preferred, with strong local team support
- Work across both People Systems and Analytics
- Opportunity to partner closely with an experienced and supportive systems leader
- Mature systems workplace rather than walking into a major clean-up exercise
- Broad exposure to HRIS, ATS, integrations, workforce reporting and people insights
- No requirement to have used their exact HR systems
- Opportunity to genuinely free up the Head of Systems & Optimisations and make an impact quickly
This would suit someone who enjoys being the bridge between HR, data and technology and wants a role where they can get into the detail without disappearing completely into the backend.
