St Martin’s Residential Aged Care, Taigum is seeking Personal Care Workers to join our team on a casual basis, with availability for afternoon, weekend and night shifts.

We are particularly looking for candidates with good availability, ideally around 30 hours per week or more, to support our staffing needs and provide holiday leave coverage, particularly over the Christmas and New Year period.

About the role:

The overall purpose of the Personal Care Worker is to provide a range of high quality services to residents within the facility, including their individual physical, psychological, cultural and spiritual needs. The Personal Care Worker’s role will support a safe home-like environment and encourage physical and social independence whilst safeguarding the dignity and privacy of the residents.

Casual pay rates range from $45.96 to $47.35 per hour, depending on the applicable classification and experience.

Responsibilities:

- Provide person-centred personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, showering, dressing, grooming, toileting and continence support.
- Support residents with mobility, walking and transfers, while promoting independence and maintaining their safety and dignity.
- Assist residents with meals and eating, including preparation and serving in accordance with required standards.
- Provide emotional, social and spiritual support and encourage residents to participate in social, recreational and meaningful activities.
- Complete domestic duties and cleaning in designated areas, maintaining a safe, clean and home-like environment.
- Follow each resident’s individual care plan and directions when providing care and support.
- Assist with medication support,



where applicable, within the scope of training and facility and Anglicare guidelines.
- Contribute to resident assessments, observations and documentation within the scope of training and responsibilities.
- Work collaboratively with Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, residents, families and colleagues, seeking guidance when care needs are beyond your level of expertise.
- Maintain confidentiality, workplace safety and professional standards, while participating in training, competency requirements, quality improvement and emergency procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need:

- A current National Police Check
- Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, or be currently working towards obtaining this qualification
- A genuine commitment to providing compassionate, person-centred care to older people
