Guardian Service & Maintenance is seeking a reliable and motivated Fire Door & Smoke Alarm Inspector to join our growing team.
n
This role involves carrying out scheduled inspections, testing and reporting of fire doors and smoke alarms across residential and commercial properties throughout Sydney and surrounding areas.
n
Previous experience within the fire protection industry is preferred; however, we are also open to applicants with the right attitude, strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn. Training can be provided to the right applicant.
About the Role n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
- Carrying out routine inspections and testing of fire doors and smoke alarms
n
- Identifying defects and compliance issues during inspections
n
- Completing electronic service reports and inspection documentation
n
- Taking clear photographs and recording accurate information while onsite
n
- Liaising professionally with building managers, residents, clients and our office team
n
- Ensuring allocated jobs are completed efficiently and to a high standard
n
- Following company procedures and relevant Australian Standards
n
- Maintaining company equipment and vehicle in a clean and professional manner
n
About You n
We are looking for someone who:
n
n
- Has previous experience inspecting fire doors and/or smoke alarms, or is willing to undertake training
n
- Has a clear understanding of AS 1851 and the inspection and maintenance requirements relevant to fire doors and smoke alarms
n
- Has excellent attention to detail
n
- Is reliable, organised and able to manage their daily workload
n
- Is comfortable using a mobile phone/tablet and electronic job management systems (Uptick)
n
- Has good written and verbal communication skills
n
- Presents professionally when dealing with clients and residents
n
- Is able to work independently as well as part of a team
n
- Takes pride in completing work correctly the first time
n
- Current Australian Driver Licence
n
- Full Australian working rights
n
- Ability to travel to different sites throughout the working day
n
- Willingness to complete required training and further develop knowledge of fire protection systems and compliance requirements
n
- Relevant fire industry qualifications, licences and previous inspection experience will be highly regarded.
n
- For applicants without previous fire industry experience, the ability to learn and understand AS 1851, compliance requirements and company inspection procedures will be essential.
