About the role

WANT Pest Control Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and dedicated Pest Management Technician or Trainee to join our team in Port Hedland, WA. This is a full-time position based in Port Hedland WA 6721, where you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality pest control services to our valued clients across the region. As a Pest Management Technician, you will be responsible for implementing effective pest management solutions, ensuring client satisfaction, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism in all your work.

Key responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive pest inspections and identify pest infestations, treatment requirements, and potential entry points at residential and commercial properties
- Apply pest control treatments using approved chemicals, baits, traps and other methods in accordance with industry regulations and safety protocols
- Provide expert advice to clients on pest prevention, treatment options and ongoing management strategies
- Document all work completed, including treatment types, chemicals used, application rates and client feedback
- Maintain and service pest control equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity
- Adhere strictly to health, safety and environmental regulations, including the proper handling and disposal of chemicals
- Respond promptly to client enquiries and service requests, providing professional and courteous communication
- Travel to multiple client locations throughout Port Hedland and surrounding areas to complete scheduled work

What we're looking for

- Current or eligible for Australian Pest Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent qualification in pest management
- Valid driver's licence and reliable access to transport for travel between client sites
- Robust knowledge of common pest species, their behaviour, life cycles and effective control methods
- Competency in the safe handling, storage and application of pesticides and chemicals




- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with clients and address their concerns
- Physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions, climb ladders and perform manual tasks
- Attention to detail and ability to accurately complete documentation and client reports
- Commitment to health and safety practices and compliance with all relevant legislation
- Problem-solving skills and ability to adapt treatment approaches based on individual property requirements
- Experience in residential and commercial pest management is highly desirable
