The Senior Accountant is a full-time role based in Kew, VIC with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing some work from home. This position is responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements, managing general ledger reconciliations, and overseeing month-end and year-end closing processes. The Senior Accountant will prepare tax returns and compliance reports, support budgeting and forecasting, and provide analysis to inform client and internal decision-making. The role includes supervising or mentoring junior team members, reviewing their work for accuracy and adherence to accounting standards, and coordinating with clients to clarify financial information and respond to queries. The Senior Accountant will also contribute to process improvements, maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant accounting and tax regulations, and support the implementation of best practices across the firm.

Qualifications

Robust technical accounting skills, including financial statement preparation, general ledger management, and knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards.





Proficiency with accounting software Handisoft & Xero and solid Excel skills for reconciliations, reporting, and analysis.

Experience in tax compliance and advisory, including preparation of business and individual tax returns and familiarity with relevant ATO requirements.

Ability to analyze financial data, prepare reports, and communicate clear recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.

Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Demonstrated experience in a public practice or advisory environment, ideally in a senior or supervisory accounting role.

Robust organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple client engagements and meet deadlines.

Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative approach and the ability to work independently within a hybrid work model.

High level of professional ethics, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous learning and staying current with regulatory changes.
