Job Description

TEOKON PTY LTD The successful applicant will undertake skilled carpentry work while providing day-to-day guidance and coordination to carpenters and other workers on construction sites. The role requires strong technical carpentry skills, the ability to interpret plans and specifications, and experience coordinating work to meet project schedules, quality standards and WHS requirements.

Key Duties Read and interpret building plans, drawings and specifications. Set out, measure, cut, shape and assemble timber and other construction materials. Construct and install wall frames, roof framing, flooring and structural components.

Install doors, windows, fixtures, fittings and other building components. Carry out general carpentry, joinery, and finishing works. Lead and coordinate carpenters and other workers on assigned site activities.

Allocate daily tasks and monitor the progress and quality of carpentry works. Liaise with site supervisors, management and other trades to coordinate construction activities. Identify and rectify carpentry defects and ensure work complies with plans and specifications.

Use tools, materials, and equipment safely and efficiently. Maintain high workmanship and quality standards. Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety and construction-site requirements.

Task & responsibilities

- Read and interpret building plans, drawings, specifications and construction requirements.
- Measure, mark, cut, shape and assemble timber and other construction materials.
- Set out and construct wall frames, roof framing, flooring and other structural components.
- Install doors, windows, frames, fixtures, fittings and other building components.
- Undertake general carpentry, joinery, fit-out and finishing works.
- Lead and coordinate carpenters and other workers undertaking assigned construction activities.
- Allocate daily work and provide practical guidance to team members.Monitor the progress, productivity and quality of carpentry works.
- Ensure completed work complies with plans, specifications and required quality standards.
- Identify carpentry defects and undertake or coordinate necessary rectification works.
- Liaise with site supervisors, project management and other trades to coordinate construction activities.




- Assist with planning labour, materials and equipment required for assigned works.
- Ensure construction materials, tools and equipment are used safely and efficiently.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and ensure work is completed within required project timeframes.
- Ensure compliance with WHS requirements, safe work procedures and construction-site policies .
- Maintain clean, organised and safe work areas.
- Assist in training and providing guidance to less experienced carpenters and workers where required.

Qualification & experience Relevant carpentry trade qualifications or equivalent experience. Minimum [insert] years of relevant carpentry experience. Demonstrated experience in residential and/or commercial construction.

Experience leading or coordinating carpentry teams is highly regarded. Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications. Sound knowledge of Australian construction practices and WHS requirements.

Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a construction team. Current driver's licence and relevant construction industry licences/cards, where required.
