About the role n

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Mine Mechanical Fitter to join our team at the AGL Loy Yang Mine . Reporting to the Mechanical Support Leader, you will carry out mechanical maintenance, fault analysis and preventative maintenance to support the safe, reliable and efficient operation of mine plant. Working in a shift environment, you will use your trade expertise to complete planned, breakdown and routine work while supporting production requirements.

Please note, this is a 12-month Fixed Term opportunity.

What you'll be doing n

n
- Carry out planned, breakdown, routine and preventative mechanical maintenance on mine plant and equipment.
n
- Analyse faults, assess plant problems and implement safe and effective solutions.
n
- Plan, schedule, complete and report maintenance activities in a dynamic production environment.
n
- Work closely with Production personnel to support safe, productive and effective plant operation.
n




- Accurately record completed work, plant faults and shift information in the CMMS and shift logs.
n
- Share your skills and experience, support the development of team members.
n
- Follow all Health, Safety and Environment requirements, identify hazards and apply appropriate controls.
n

About You n

You are a safety-focused mechanical tradesperson who enjoys solving problems and working as part of a team. You can adapt to changing priorities, communicate clearly with stakeholders and take ownership of delivering quality work in a complex heavy industrial environment.

What you'll bring to the table n

n
- A Mechanical Fitting trade qualification or equivalent.
n
- Detailed knowledge of maintenance practices in open-cut mining or other heavy industrial plants.
n
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capability, with the ability to assess options and determine an appropriate solution.
n
- Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices, hazard identification and effective risk controls.
n
- Experience using computerised maintenance management systems.
n
- The ability to work proactively with minimal direction and complete tasks on time and to the required standard.
n




- Effective verbal and written communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
n
- A current Victorian Driver's Licence and the ability to work shift work.
n
- Experience with open-cut mining equipment such as dredgers, stackers and conveyors will be highly regarded.
