About the role

Norton Civil PTY LTD is seeking experienced Pipelayers/Labourers/Operators to join our team on a casual basis. Based in Adelaide, South Australia, this is a hands-on position where you'll play a crucial role in the delivery of civil construction and infrastructure projects. Whether you're working as a pipelayer, labourer or operator, you'll contribute directly to the success of our diverse project portfolio across South Australia.

Currently operating on major Tier 1 projects across Adelaide. Casual roles with full time opportunities.

Shift work may be required.

Key responsibilities

- Operating and maintaining a variety of plant and equipment including excavators, compactors, and other machinery as required on site
- Laying and installing pipelines, ensuring correct alignment, depth and compaction in accordance with project specifications
- Performing general labouring duties including site preparation, material handling, and excavation work
- Assisting with trenching, backfilling and groundwork tasks to support pipeline installation and other civil works
- Adhering to all health and safety requirements and site protocols, maintaining a clean and protected working environment
- Liaising with supervisors and other team members to ensure tasks are completed on schedule and to specification




- Performing preventative maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure operational reliability

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a pipelayer, labourer or plant operator in civil construction or similar infrastructure projects
- Competency in operating excavators, compactors, rollers and other relevant plant and equipment
- Knowledge of pipelaying techniques, including bedding, laying and backfilling procedures
- Current and valid driver's licence (Car or Truck as appropriate for the role)
- Understanding of workplace health and safety regulations and commitment to safe working practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual labour in various weather conditions
- Strong communication skills and reliability
- Experience with civil construction projects in South Australia is advantageous
