PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

Assist in the determination and operation of the Darwin-Katherine interim electricity market and Northern Territory power systems for the secure,

reliable, economic, and safe operation, as well as the development and publishing of various operational documents, including those requiring industry consultation, generation planning, and market operation reports to ensure compliance with various Technical Codes. The role also supports the development, maintenance and enhancement of power system, market and operational support tools to improve analysis,

forecasting, reporting, decision-making and compliance activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The “WHAT” to be delivered

- Assist in the development of operational procedures to support the secure and reliable operation of Northern Territory power systems in

response to evolving regulatory requirements, market rule changes and ongoing electricity reforms, while ensuring compliance with applicable Technical Codes.
- Assist in the production of demand forecasting, power system adequacy and compliance reporting, including the application of analytical





techniques and supporting tools to improve reporting quality and efficiency.
- Assist in the development, testing, implementation and continuous improvement of operational applications, analytical tools and procedures

to support power system monitoring, forecasting, dispatch, market operations and system security functions.
- Assist in the validation of operational security assessment tools, applications and associated system security parameters, limits and settings to

support real-time operational decision-making and the secure operation of Northern Territory power systems.
- Assist in the delivery of minor and major engineering projects, including the preparation of project documentation, progress and business

case reports, and support project planning, resource coordination and stakeholder engagement activities.
