Senior Embedded Software Engineer – C/C++ | Linux | MedTech n

An innovative, venture-backed Australian MedTech company is developing next-generation monitoring technology designed to improve clinical decision-making and patient outcomes during childbirth.

Bringing together specialists across software, hardware, electronics, clinical research and data science, the business is continuing to develop and advance its innovative medical technology.

They are now looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join their multidisciplinary engineering team.

The Opportunity n

This is a hands-on engineering role working across embedded software, hardware and regulated medical-device development.

n

You will design, develop and test reliable software using C/C++ within Linux and embedded environments. Working alongside firmware, hardware, clinical and regulatory specialists, you will support the development and integration of a complex connected medical device.

What You’ll Be Doing n

n
- Designing and developing embedded software using C/C++.
n
- Working across Linux, RTOS and embedded-device environments.
n
- Integrating software with hardware and connected devices.
n
- Supporting BLE, NFC and other device communication workflows.
n
- Developing unit,



integration and system-level tests.
n
- Debugging complex software, hardware and connectivity issues.
n
- Supporting secure OTA updates, rollback and recovery.
n
- Producing documentation and traceability for a regulated medical-device environment.
n
- Contributing to software verification and validation activities.
n

What We’re Looking For nn
- Strong commercial C/C++ development experience.
n
- Experience working with Linux and embedded systems.
n
- Experience integrating software with hardware or connected devices.
n
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as BLE, NFC, I2C, SPI or UART.
n
- Experience within MedTech, embedded systems or another regulated or safety-critical setting.
n
- Experience with IEC 62304, ISO 13485, IEC 60601, Qt/QML, RTOS or secure OTA updates would be advantageous but is not essential.
n
