LABOURLENS PTY LTD LabourLens is recruiting on behalf of Little Saplings EEC Armidale Pty Ltd t/a Little Saplings Early Education Centre for a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join their team in Armidale, NSW.

This is a full-time position, working a minimum of 38 hours per week. At Little Saplings, the Early Childhood Teacher will play an important role in shaping the learning journey of young children by developing thoughtful educational programs, creating stimulating indoor and outdoor experiences, and responding to each child’s interests, strengths and developmental needs.

The role also involves documenting learning outcomes, supporting children’s wellbeing, maintaining meaningful connections with families, and contributing to a collaborative and reflective teaching environment. Suitably qualified Australian Citizens and Australian Permanent Residents will be preferred for this position. Benefits Competitive salary package based on qualifications, skills and experience.

Task & responsibilities Plan, prepare and deliver engaging learning experiences across both indoor and outdoor environments using age-appropriate resources, materials and equipment to support children’s learning and development.



Design and implement a variety of educational activities that encourage children’s physical development, motor skills, social interaction, cooperation, confidence and independence. Support children’s communication and language development through storytelling, group discussions, imaginative play, songs, rhymes and other interactive learning experiences.

Regularly observe and assess children’s learning, behaviour and developmental progress, maintaining appropriate records and identifying areas where additional support may be required. Monitor children’s health, wellbeing and emotional development and recognise signs of illness, distress, developmental concerns or other factors that may affect their learning and participation. Promote a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment while attending to children’s health, nutritional, welfare and safety needs throughout the day.

Develop learning experiences that respond to individual children’s interests, abilities, developmental stages and learning needs. Maintain clear records of children’s learning and development and use observations to assist with future planning and educational programming. Communicate regularly with parents and families regarding their child’s development, learning progress, achievements and any areas requiring additional attention or support.

Participate in meetings and discussions with parents, educators and other staff regarding children’s progress, educational programs and centre activities. Work collaboratively with educators and other team members to plan and deliver consistent, high-quality early childhood education and care. Build positive relationships with children and families and contribute to centre initiatives that encourage family and community participation.





Participate in appropriate family and community support activities and programs that contribute to children’s learning, wellbeing and development. Provide guidance and supervision to student teachers undertaking professional placements at the centre, where required. Contribute to staff meetings, professional discussions and ongoing review of educational practices and learning programs.

Qualification & experience Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Early Childhood Education. At least 1 year of relevant practical experience working as an

Early Childhood Teacher. Demonstrated experience in planning and delivering age-appropriate learning programs and educational activities for young children. Experience in observing, assessing and documenting children’s learning, development and progress.

Ability to support children’s social, emotional, physical, language and cognitive development through structured and play-based learning experiences. Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and other educators. Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative early childhood education team.
