Occupational Therapist - Grade 2 Fixed Term

The Occupational Therapy service provides high quality assessments and interventions to maximise the functional independence, health, safety and quality of life of inpatients, transitional care patients and community-based clients. A strong knowledge and skill base, with a commitment to patient-centred care, collaborative practice and evidence-based knowledge contributes to positive client outcomes and service development.The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides supervision and support to Allied Health Assistants (AHAs), Grade 1 Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) and students.

To be eligible for this position you must have:

- Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (minimum) with a current AHPRA registration
- 4+ years’ experience in acute, sub-acute and/ or community care (desirable)
- Demonstrated experience in providing Occupational therapy services in acute, sub-acute and/ or community care settings
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence




- Ability to undertake OT clinical and risk assessment and therapeutic interventions, including the provision of home modification recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities and work in a timely and effective manner according to various program requirements.
- Ability to provide high quality coordinated OT services in association with clients, family/carers and other clinicians.
- Well-developed verbal, written and IT communication and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team or autonomously as a sole OT practitioner.
- Experience in teaching, directing and supervising AHAs, Grade 1 AHPs and/or students (desirable).
- Demonstrated ability to maintain statistical data and documentation at a high standard.
