As a CRM Functional Architect at Avanade, you will shape the functional design of complex Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement solutions for our clients across New Zealand and the wider region. You will bridge business requirements and technical delivery, acting as a trusted advisor to both client stakeholders and internal delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead functional design and configuration of Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE / CRM solutions across Sales, Customer Service, and Field Service modules
- Facilitate workshops with client stakeholders to elicit, document and validate business requirements
- Translate complex business processes into functional specifications, user stories and solution designs
- Oversee configuration, customisation and integration design in collaboration with technical architects
- Provide quality assurance across functional deliverables, reviewing solution designs and test plans
- Support pre-sales engagements including effort estimation, solution scoping and proposal writing
- Mentor and guide junior consultants and business analysts on the engagement team
- Manage client relationships and act as primary functional point of contact throughout delivery

Skills & Experience

- You are a seasoned CRM professional with deep expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE / CRM functional configuration and architecture
- You are comfortable leading client-facing workshops and translating ambiguous requirements into clear solutions




- You have strong stakeholder management skills and can communicate effectively at all levels
- You bring experience managing workstreams and guiding junior team members
- You likely have 8+ years of experience in CRM consulting or functional architecture roles
- You hold or are working towards relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g. MB-210, MB-230)

Technical skills & experience

- Deep functional knowledge of Dynamics 365 CE modules: Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, Marketing
- Experience designing solutions using Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)
- Familiarity with Dataverse, Common Data Model and Azure integration patterns
- Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies
- Understanding of DevOps practices for D365 CE including ALM and CI/CD pipelines

Preferred certifications

- MB-210: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales Functional Consultant Associate
- MB-230: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Service Functional Consultant Associate
- PL-200: Microsoft Power Platform Functional Consultant

You likely have around 8–12 years of qualified experience, including significant time in Dynamics 365 CE functional consulting.
