You will work across issues spanning the health system and see first-hand how complex matters are worked through, how advice is shaped and how decisions are supported at the highest levels of the department.

You will be trusted to think critically, ask the right questions and exercise judgement. You will work directly with senior stakeholders, bring together perspectives from across Queensland Health and help turn complexity into clear, practical advice.

About the team

You will join an experienced, highly connected team working at the interface between Queensland Health, the Office of the Director-General and the Minister's Office.

The team works at pace, supports each other and takes pride in producing advice that is clear, accurate and defensible. The work is varied, the issues are interesting and no two days are quite the same.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone who is already a strong writer, thinker and adviser and wants to work in an environment where those skills are genuinely tested.

You will be able to quickly get across complex issues, identify what matters and communicate it clearly to senior audiences. You will be confident dealing with ambiguity, comfortable challenging or clarifying advice where necessary, and able to build credibility with people at all levels.

You will bring highly developed analytical, communication and relationship-management skills,



sound judgement and the confidence to operate on sensitive and high-profile matters. A strong understanding of Queensland Health, government or another large and complex organisation will be highly regarded.

The role operates as part of a roster and includes participation in on-call arrangements, with some flexibility in working hours required for urgent or high-priority matters.
